I'm a bayou-born Cajun from Cut Off, Louisiana. I've been in Singapore and Malaysia since 1989. A 2 year move just kind of dragged on. Though I love nasi-lemak, it's still not as good as jambalaya (Here's my gumbo recipe).
I love reading & writing. Problem with my reading is I don’t remember things too well. I’ve got multiple copies of books. It’s a costly problem.
I like to walk too. I hate driving unless I’m the only one on the road. Driving in Kuala Lumpur is too much like playing Grand Theft Auto and I don’t like video games… not that walking is any less intense unless I’m walking in the jungle which is calming but I can’t buy milk or bread in the jungle.
I'm a landscape architect working at WDI Design Sdn Bhd. I’m paid to tell people where to plant trees so that I can read more books.
My sign is Cynic not Virgo. The charts are wrong… I should know.
A Bunch of Stuff Has Taking Over My Walking Blog...
... but that's alright. I put it here...
As for the virtual walk, did you think it was real? OK, let's get this straight. This is my VIRTUAL walk along the Mississippi River. I live in Malaysia. I wake up every morning in Kuala Lumpur. I sit at a desk and work in Kuala Lumpur. And, I breathe the air in Kuala Lumpur (though that can sometimes be unwise). I keep track of my walking/jogging miles and use Google's gmap to chart my walk along the Mississippi River. I AM NOT REALLY WALKING ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. I have to work for a living... unlike Forrest Gump.
Do You Like To Walk (Read and Write)?
I sure do! Welcome to my walking blog. I write about my virtual walk along the Mississippi River, the places I visit and the people I meet along the way. I also share some insights into my walking experiences. I'll introduce you to some great walking tunes and the latest gadgets to inspire and motivate you to keep moving. And like any walk or journey, I'll sometimes get lost along the way or detour into unexpected areas. Enjoy reading. But more importantly... put on a good pair of shoes and head out your front door. There's a big world out there waiting to be explored.
Ok... now I really got lost along the way. Hope you like the various distractions.
